Fun is inside of Function

"It’s not about minimalism, but the idea has to be very simple. Less is better. Less is more."

Nendo, an international and multidisciplinary design studio, was established in 2002 by Oki Sato. Born in Toronto in 1977, Sato studied architecture at Tokyo's Waseda University. His visit to the Salone del Mobile inspired him to expand his creative horizons. Today, Nendo's Tokyo-based studio employs over 40 professionals across various fields, including interior design, product design, branding, and graphic design. Since 2005, Nendo has also operated a branch in Milan, dedicated to installation and exhibition design. Oki Sato's personal touch and a clear, minimalist Japanese aesthetic define all their projects. The team’s primary mission is to rethink everyday objects, adding an element of surprise to them.
